Friends of Love Library At-A-Glance
– Number of members: 77
– Membership levels: $15 Individual, $25 Family, Contributor $50, Advocate $100
– Upcoming Book Sale Dates: October 11 & 12, 2024, December 13 &14, 2024. All sales include give-away of free books to kids.
– Supports the Library with donations for books, periodicals, equipment, furnishings, staff recognition and programing.
– Publishes semi-annual Friends Talk newsletter
– Hosts monthly on-line Happy Bookers book club
– Hosts monthly Book Bingo nights at KL (with Picture Bingo for the little ones) books are the prizes!
– Co-Sponsors the STORYWALK on the Paxtang Greenbelt with the generous volunteer support of the Penbrook Leo’s Club.
– 2023 Special Project: reconstruction of the outdoor Mosaic Garden made possible by a generous grant from the Keystone Rotary Club and Rotary Foundation
– 2024 Special Project: Mural done in part with a grant through Arts in Education.
– Sponsors annual community “Field Trips” for members and community projects with the Salvation Army
– In 2023, grateful recipient of a hand crafted display quilt from the African American Quilters’ Guild
– Provides year-round volunteer opportunities to promote literacy, stimulate use of the library, and serve members of the Love Library neighborhood
– 501 C 3 organization and member of PA Citizens for Better Libraries
