Marco is celebrating National Library Week by shaking off the winter blues and taking a tour of Dauphin County. If you haven’t met Marco, he is The Library’s

mobile Exploration Station. The colorfully wrapped Ford van is stocked with laptops, art supplies, CDs, DVDs, and of course, books.

Marco is Wi-Fi enabled and equipped with charging stations, giving visitors internet access for checking email, conducting job searches, paying bills, charging phones, and just spending time reading or playing games.

“Marco goes to neighborhoods, and people leave with Library swag and a free book,” said Library Public Services Administrator Lori Milach. “It’s a way to reintroduce people to The Library and remind them that we are here to meet you wherever you’re at and meet any needs that you have. Ask us, and we may be able to provide it.”

Through Marco, the public can sign up Dauphin County residents for library cards that open doors to discovery. For the young and the young at heart, Marco is famous for the bubble machine that brings fun to every appearance.
