From audiobook bestsellers and classics to the latest national magazines, The Library has unveiled a comprehensive digital collection that users can enjoy on their computers, tablets and smartphones.

RB Digital offers audiobooks, almost 40,000 titles from major publishers, as well as more than 3,000 magazines, such as The New Yorker, Apple Magazine, National Geographic, The Economist and more all to our member’s fingertips.

Members of the Middletown Area and Hershey public libraries will also be able to use the new service thanks to the state County Coordination Grant received by The Library.

“Only libraries that receive direct county support, as we do thanks to the Dauphin County Commissioners, are eligible for this kind of funding,’’ said Karen Cullings, The Library’s Executive Director. “As we look to increase our online offerings, especially in the face of the coronavirus lockdown, we think residents will love this new digital service.’’

How it works

To sign up, users must have a library card, which they can get online at dcls.org/getcard

Then, go to https://dauphinpa.rbdigital.com, where first-time users will register by using their library card number, entering their email address and creating an RB Digital username and password. At that point, you can use the service on your computer’s web browser or download the RB Digital app on your Apple or Android device.

Users can check out an audiobook for up to 21 days and put up to 10 titles on hold.

There is no limit to the magazines that members can read. Once you select a magazine, you have access to that title, its archive and future issues until you remove it from your RB Digital account.

Don’t forget The Library’s other online offerings
