The Friends work closely with library leadership and staff to make a difference. They are instrumental in fundraising, advocacy, volunteering, community engagement, and supporting programs.

Come join us at a Book Club. Book Club meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at 5:30 PM at the Elizabethville Area Library (basement meeting room unless otherwise noted). Those interested, contact Emily Degnitz 717-422-1614 or sports4emily@hotmail.com. You are not required to have completed the book in order to participate in the book club.
BOOK BINGO
Bingo is Back for the Winter! Come play this classic with your family and friends. There will be books and other prizes for players of all ages. Picture bingo will be available for the little ones. Saturdays at 11 am (weather permitting). January 17, February 21, March 21.
2026 AUTHOR ON THE ROAD PROGRAM
2026 Guest Author Kate O’Shaughnessy will visit the Halifax Area Middle School on Wednesday, April 15 and the Upper Dauphin Area Middle School on Thursday, April 16. The Friends of the Elizabethville Area Library will hold a Meet & Greet/Book Signing with Kate at the Elizabethville Area Library on Wednesday, April 15 – open to the public from 5:00 to 6:45 pm. This program is made possible by the Friends of the Elizabethville Area Library, Lively Minds funded by the Carole & Pete DeSoto Endowment and the Halifax Area & Upper Dauphin Area Middle Schools.
FRIENDS 2026 MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
The Friends of the Elizabethville Area Library are having a Membership Drive for 2026. The “FRIENDS” is a nonprofit organization that loves what our library does for each of us. It supports the library through fund-raising and volunteer work and is a strong support group of the Lively Minds Series, Author on the Road Program, programs for children and adults and Children’s Community Outreach. The Friends are also dedicated to promoting and enhancing the library and its services. Visit the Library to see what enhancements The Friends contributions have helped provide.

Special door prize drawings will be held at the February 2026 Friends Board Meeting. The drawing is for new and renewed memberships received during the membership drive. The door prizes awarded will be provided by the above local participating businesses. For membership information, contact Karen at 717-576-3616 or pick up a Membership form available at the Elizabethville Area Library, The Friends Book Nook located at the Shops on Market directly across the street from the Elizabethville Area Library or at any of the participating businesses listed. The Friends of the Elizabethville Area Library is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Membership dues and contributions are tax deductible.

Membership fees are $10 Seniors, $15 Individual, $25 family; Business – Silver $50, Gold $75 or Platinum $100. A listing of our business memberships are displayed at the library. Your support as a member of the Friends will be appreciated and you have the reward of knowing your valuable contribution helped to make a difference.
The Friends Book Nook inside the Shops on Market (located across from the library) offers books for sale all year round.
Friends of the Love Memorial Library
Board meetings occur at 5:30pm on the 3rd Thursday of every month at the George & Hettie Love Memorial Library.
