Photography ProgramPhotography Workshop

Come learn how to get the perfect shot with professional photographer Cathy Wert! We will learn a simple approach to photography that can be used with any camera – even your phone. Some things that will be considered are photo subject, setting, lighting, and placement. Common pitfalls, such as red-eye, will be discussed with tips on how to avoid them. Come learn the basics with us, then go forth and take beautiful photos!

Join us for a tea tasting with Thomasina’s Health & Wellness! Owners Thomas-Lee and Satina Thomas will guide participants through a sampling of four tea blends. They have been practicing Master Herbalists for a combination of 7 years. The two studied practices that were passed to them from teachers around the globe and use these simple wellness herbs every day within their home and with family and friends.

The Library is excited to learn from Frederic Loraschi, world-renowned chocolatier and owner of Frederic Loraschi Chocolate, located right here in Dauphin County. Mr. Loraschi will walk participants through tasting 3 of his single-origin chocolates. We will learn about the chocolate-making process, as well as the different factors that determine the flavor and taste of chocolate.

Join us as we welcome Debbie Naha-Koretzky, the Wild Edibles Lady, for an enlightening conversation about what you can eat that’s growing naturally in your own backyard! Debbie, author of the newly published “Foraging Pennsylvania and New Jersey,” will provide us with valuable insight on how to spot edible plants growing in the wild before taking us on a foraging excursion to see what we can spot. Debbie is a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist, a Certified Rutgers Master Gardener, and a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist.
