HARRISBURG, Pa.— The Library will host two free workshops for nonprofit organizations who would like to learn how to find grants and write proposals on Tuesday, November 10 at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the East Shore Area Library, 4501 Ethel Street in Colonial Park.
At 10:30 a.m., the Introduction to Proposal Writing workshop will present an overview of how to write a standard project proposal to a foundation. Attendees will learn the basic elements of a proposal, the “dos and don’ts” of writing and submitting a proposal, and how to follow up regardless of the outcome. An optional 30 minute exercise for developing a proposal outline will be provided after this workshop.
At 1:00 p.m., the Introduction to Project Budgets webinar will provide step-by-step instructions on how to generate a standard project budget for a foundation proposal. Attendees will learn the basic components of a project budget including income and expenses, how to estimate the realistic cost of a project, and what other financial documents may also need to be submitted with a proposal. It is recommended that those interested in the afternoon webinar also attend the morning Introduction to Proposal Writing workshop.
