HARRISBURG, Pa. — Beginning in June, The Library will hold “Jr. Olympics” as part of the “On Your Mark… Get Set… READ!” Summer Reading Club. Kids can get in the spirit for the Summer Olympics by participating in several Jr. Olympic events. The Library may not have a swimming pool, but it is still the perfect place for children to compete in the Olympic Games.
The Library’s Jr. Olympics will include 5 sports featured in the actual Summer Olympics: basketball, gymnastics, golf, shot put and the javelin toss. Children will also have the opportunity to recite the Olympic Oath and learn more about the games and history of the Olympics. No registration required.
