However, The Library is here to help you and / or your child ease back into the “new” school routine.  It is also National Library Card Sign Up Month and the perfect time to get a library card.

The Dauphin County Library System has 8 branches located throughout Dauphin County.  All of our branches are currently open, with reduced hours.

Our Online resources are always available for use at the library and at home (accessible with your library card).  Go to our web site and click on the Research & Resources icon.

Looking for a local newspaper article?  The Patriot News has news articles on line from 8/1/1986 thru present.  If the article has images (from 2018-present), you can get both the article and image.  You have the option to print, send to email and it also provides information on how to cite the article

Check out Salem Online for information on History, Science, Health and Literature.  This is the same information as in the physical books, but available on line.

EBSCO Host is a great resource for looking for articles.  You can set parameters to search for full text articles, academic journal articles, etc.  You have the option to print, send to email and it also provides the information to cite the article.

These are just a few of our available on line resources- whether it is back to school or just general interest.

You can stop in to any of our 7 open branches to get a free library card.  You will need to bring a form of ID and for a child, you must be the parent or legal guardian.  OR

You can register on line to be able to use our online resources, borrow eContent and place holds on books.  In order to check out physical material, your account will need to be updated to a full-service account, which will need to be done in person with a form of ID and for a child, you must be the parent or legal guardian.
