This book club will encourage you to dive into new genres while getting to know other readers in a social setting. In February, we’ll discuss Amor Towles’s A Gentleman in Moscow in February. No registration required.

 

Game Day
KL: Saturday, February 2 from 12:00 – 4:00 pm
Spend some time playing the board games you loved as a kid or another tabletop game you are just learning. Bring your own game or play one from The Library’s collection. No registration required.

Mid-day Getaway
Wednesdays in February from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
Bring your lunch and spend some time unwinding at The Library. The Library will provide coloring pages, card games, board games and other low-stress activities for you to enjoy.

eReader Resources
AFL: Thursday, February 7 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Although physical book borrowing is still a useful and viable way to check out titles, there is a new, 21st century way to enjoy the titles you love. Library staff will walk you through our e-reader resources, like Overdrive and Libby, to get the most out of your user experience.

Basic Email I
ESA: Friday, February 8 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
During this program, you’ll learn the difference between email and website addresses, compose and send a new email, view and reply to received mail, understand the difference between inbox, sent and trash folders, and log into Gmail without assistance. Bring your own laptop or borrow one from The Library.

Essential Oils 101
KL: Saturday, February 9 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm
Curious about how essential oils may fit into your life? Adele Cole, Wellness Educator, will answer your questions and discuss the basic uses of many common essential oils. Plan to leave with a make and take oily goody of your own!

Job Seekers Resources
MOM: Tuesdays, February 12 and February 26 from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Looking for a first job or hoping to land something better? Re-entering the workforce? The Library is here to help! Drop in during this time and get access to computers and experienced staff, who can assist with formatting resumes, searching for jobs, and filling out applications.

2nd Wednesday Cinema

New to using a tablet or iPad and want to increase your skills or knowledge? Bring your device and participate in this workshop for mobile device users. Each session includes a short presentation on a general topic (or specific app) followed by question and practice time. Learn to change settings, set up email, install and remove apps, access Wi-Fi, download e-books, and more. Attend as many sessions as you like.

Farmhouse Chic Art

What is a kitchen without eggs, milk, and bacon? Join us at The Library for this fun and easy craft. All materials will be provided.

Resume Writing Series
KL: Wednesday, February 20 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm
Job-seekers, come and learn how to craft the best resume possible. Library staff will demonstrate the best practices to write a compelling resume and show what pit-falls to avoid. Ideal for first-timers, but also great for those who need updating and polishing too. Bring your own laptop or borrow one from The Library.

Cookbook Book Club: Soul Food
MOM: Monday, February 25 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm
Calling all food lovers! Join this potluck-style book discussion about cooking, recipes, and food writing. Bring a dish to share and the book that inspired it for an hour of delicious discussion. Whether you’ve just started cooking or you’ve been doing it for years, there’s a place at the table for you.

Knit 1, Crochet Too!
KL: Wednesday, February 27 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm
EV: Thursday, February 28 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Whether you can whip up a sweater in a day or you don’t know a knitting needle from a crochet hook, this class is for you. Bring your own supplies and join us for an evening of learning and conversation. We’ll help beginners get started and the pros can give us tips.

Video Game Club
MOM: Monday, February 4 and February 25 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm
Hang out with friends and enjoy video games and snacks. Each week we vote on and play different multiplayer games on a PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. The Library provides the systems, games, controllers, and snacks. All you have to do is show up ready to play.

Afternoon Hangout
MOM: Wednesday, February 6, February 20 and February 27 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm
Come hang out and play games, make some art, or go old school and build with LEGOs. Each week we’ll have new things going on at The Library for you.

Dungeons and Dragons
MOM: Wednesdays, February 6 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm
Join us the first Wednesday of each month (mostly) for a Dungeons and Dragons adventure. For beginners or experts!

Teen Night: Sweet and Speedy Games
AFL: Thursday, February 7 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm
Bring your friends and explore different activities, arts and crafts, try cool tech toys and more. Then find out how many board games you can plan in an hour. Warning: There will be chocolate involved.

Sew What?
EV: Tuesdays, February 19 – March 19 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm
Learn how to make one of a kind, handmade sewn items. This five-week beginner sewing series will focus on a different area of sewing each week, from the machine, to fabrics, to how to sew. Everyone who attends will finish the course by making their own pillow case. Attendees will need to sign a waiver.
