  • The Library loves to visit children and have children visit us!

    The more often children have positive contact with books and reading, the more likely they are to learn to love learning for a lifetime.

    General Information

    In order to provide the highest quality services, the library has created a few options for your group to visit the library or for The Library to visit you. While we understand that different groups may need different types of visits, for reasons related to funding and time, The Library needs to set some limits on group visits.

    The online form offers the available options as well as a place to indicate something other than these options. The Library will do its best to accommodate other types of programs.

    Library card applications

    In order to better accommodate library cards for children in your group we can make cards in advance of your visit.  We will work with you to get applications to you for completion by parents/guardians in advance of the visit. Completed applications that are delivered in advance of your visit will make it possible to have cards ready at the time of the visit. Otherwise we will work with you to provide the cards at another time.

    Library visits can include checking out books if children have a valid library card with them during the visit.

    Visits to The Library

    Groups are invited to schedule a time with The Library to have their children visit.
    Group visits to the library should be scheduled in advance in order to ensure adequate staffing and avoid multiple groups visiting at the same time.

    The Library will make every attempt to accommodate preferences in times, dates and locations. On a group's first visit to the library, each child will receive a sticker and a library visit bag!

    Library Visits to Your Site

    Groups are invited to request a visit to their program or facility by a library staff person. The Library offers a variety of unique programs that can be presented at your facility. These include storytimes and early financial literacy. The Library will make every attempt to accommodate preferences in times, dates and locations.
