Each year educators, child care providers and others make classroom visits to The Library. Children learn about the library, what it has to offer, and who is there to help them. On a group's first visit of the year, each child is given a paper bag bearing The Library’s logo. Each bag contains a Locations & Hours bookmark, a letter to parents, an item promoting a key children’s resource or service, information for parents on signing up for library news by email and information on new library services.
Every time a child visits The Library as part of a group, they are given an “I Visited The Library Today” sticker. Any child who receives a library card is given an “I Got My Library Card” sticker to wear. Approximately 5400 bags are distributed each year.
