Award-winning author Donna Jo Napoli will provide a presentation about writing children's books, and specifically discuss her book Hands & Hearts. Each family in attendance will receive a free copy of her book, which the author will be available to sign.
Donna Jo Napoli will present four events over three days. Join The Library at these special Children's Book Week events at Elizabethville Area Library on Friday, November 6; William H. & Marion C. Alexander Family Library and Madeline L. Olewine Memorial Library on Saturday, November 7; and East Shore Area Library on Sunday, November 8.
Craft activities will be led by library staff after each presentation.
Registration and seating will begin a half hour before each event at each location.
Register starting October 20 for the author visit events November 6-8.
Donna Jo Napoli is an award winning author of numerous children's and young-adult fiction books. Besides being an author she is a prominent linguist, and is currently a linguist professor at Swarthmore College. She has won several awards for her work, including The Golden Kite Award, The Sydney Taylor Award, and Silver Awards.
Many of her children's books are re-tellings of fairy tales, including The Magic Circle, Crazy Jack, Spinners, Breath, Bound, and Beast. She also writes historical fiction books, including The Crossing, Daughter of Venice, and The Smile. An avid traveler, many of Donna Jo Napoli's books take place in countries around the world, including Australia in Ready to Dream.
