Each year, Floyd Stokes and the American Literacy Corporation present 500 Men Reading, an initiative dedicated to sharing the joy of reading and modeling that men are readers, too. This event is done in conjunction with Read Across America.
During the week of March 3-8, The Library will participate by having community volunteers and men on the library staff sharing stories at some of our storytimes. Come check out our Toddler and Preschool storytimes this week to discover 500 Men Reading! Registration will be as usual for our five-week storytime sessions.
The East Shore Area Library will also host Floyd Stokes and friends for an special evening of storytimes and activities for children of all ages and abilities. Come join us and discover how to build literacy skills and encourage learning, all while having fun! Registration is not required for this event. Each child attending the program will get a book to keep.
